Re: These are the groups/artistes l've seen in concert. Who have you seen in concert

Bob....This Rush deal brings back memories as in 1981-I was in 8th grade and a bunch of us went to see (public transit Bus) Rush on the 'Moving pictures' tour. I had never been to a live concert of any kind and Rush opened the show w/ 2112/syrinx and they did the whole thing...I was blown away and that night changed my life....I soaked up every show I could see:

Blackfoot/Def leppard
Black Sabbath w/ Dio singing
Sammy Hagar
Grateful Dead
Ozzy
ZZ Top
Van Halen
Sammy Hagar
Molly Hatchet
Scorps
US Festival 83
Iron maiden
Ratt
Loverboy
Quiet Riot
too many more to list but I still have every ticket stub today in a scrap book along w/ stickers/tour books/etc...
I did all this before the 10th grade...what were my parents thinking...

Whenever I break out some RUSH/Scorps/whatever my daughter rolls her eyes
and says it's 80's flashback to which I turn up the volume big time...
I miss those days...

Re: These are the groups/artistes l've seen in concert. Who have you seen in concert

My list is suprisingly short:
KISS (saw them 3 times in Detroit... a real treat) & once in Dallas.
Cinderella, Bon Jovi - and Ted Nugent came onstage, too.
The Jacksons Victory tour
Slaughter
Faster Pussycat
Vandenberg
Great White
Night Ranger

Re: These are the groups/artistes l've seen in concert. Who have you seen in concert

I think I read that was the ONLY time they ever did the entire suite live.
I like listening to 'Different Stages' because the take of 2112 they put on that album was recorded in Mansfield MA at an outdoor amphitheatre in the summer of 97. I was there, and it was perfect. PERFECT. They ended the first set with it, and when the lights came up, I didn't move. It was an afterglow you can't imagine. I was hoping no one would talk to or touch me until it wore off

p.s. you've never heard an audience scream the 'heys' during syrinx like on that night. man we were into it. a passionate audience you might say.

Way cool!
Tho I only moved to Seattle in 1980; I take pride in the liner-notes from All The World's A Stage!!! :)
Outdoors, especially @ The Gorge in George, WA, is definately the best way to see them!!!

I saw Steve Carbone in a FED, burn down Garlits on the line at Indy in 1971. Never doubt that that was a concert.

Re: These are the groups/artistes l've seen in concert. Who have you seen in concert

I hadn't been to a concert since 2005, and then over the course of 5 months last year, I saw UFO, X, Iron Maiden, and Bad Religion. I'm going to see X again in a few weeks, and Iron Maiden just added a show in Fort Lauderdale to the "Somewhere Back In Time Tour" so hopefully there might be some more US dates coming up during the summer.

Re: These are the groups/artistes l've seen in concert. Who have you seen in concert

Bands/artists I would like to see in the future:

Lita Ford (coming out with a new album later this year!).
Whitesnake.
Steve Vai.
The Donnas (Just by themselves).
Joanne Shaw Taylor.
Chickenfoot (Supergroup consisting of Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Satriani and the drummer from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now that's a lineup!)

Re: These are the groups/artistes l've seen in concert. Who have you seen in concert

almost exactly what i expected - very entertaining.
also, actual band utilized.
......fergie quite a talent and extremely easy on the eyes ;)
