STRIVING FOR A PERFECT END TO 2007 FOR TORKELSON MOTORSPORTS AND DRIVER JIM WIENS

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – After continually improving the second half of the season, Torkelson Motorsports and driver Jim Wiens, is still searching for an event win and the end to a productive season. Starting from the No. 1 position at the last Super Chevy Show in the Aeromotive Nitro Coupe class, Wiens is wanting to step up their game a bit more and take home the trophy this weekend.

“We’ve been close all season, but just fallen a little short,” said Wiens. “Each event we improve, become more consistent, and have a better race car. Now, it’s time to bring home the win. Last race I started from the No. 1 spot, which felt very good. There were a lot of good cars there, and to have the quickest going into eliminations was nice. We have been to a lot of semi-finals this season, and hopefully we can make it to the finals this weekend. Wayne and Barbara Torkelson have worked very hard this year to have a solid race program, and I want to stay on top of my performance. I think we have one of the better cars in competition, so now we need to prove it on the track.”

Team owners Wayne and Barbara Torkelson added, “We had lots of fun at the last race and Jim [Wiens] has been improving his driving with our car. Being No. 1 at Tulsa was real great and the car is improving with each race. We are looking forward to the last race of the year with great improvements and getting ready for Super Chevy Show in 2008.”

Torkelson Motorsports would like to thank Redline Oil, Super Chevy Show, Aeromotive Fuel Systems and Jim Wiens Race Cars for their continued support.
