Only 20 PS cars at Brainerd??? (1 Viewer)

it is too bad some of you see brainerd as such a lesser event.

back in the 90's when the digger used to publish attendance, i remember
brainerd one year having 105,000 spectator count, also reported
that BIR was the 5th best attended race that season.
this last weekend BIR was as full as i've ever seen it.

it is the opinion of countless sportsmen racers that BIR has some of the
most convenient pit parking of all nat. event tracks; especially this year
with additional pit and pit road paving.

the Lucas' state every year that sponsoring the BIR event gives them
access to their Canadien customers; you'd be surprised how many racers
and especially spectators come to BIR from canada.

One of our pro-crew friends we've known over the years........had two
of his friends fly to the race from the left coast just because he told
them, 'you have to come to brainerd'. I met them both, they both said
they were having tremendous fun and glad they came.

don't knock it before you try it.

I couldn't agree more Mike!

The new owner has the place looking better than it has EVER looked. Newly paved pit roads, New return road in font of the stands, new landscaping outside gate B, improvements on the road course for other forms of racing, cleaning crews keeping the bathrooms cleaner than I've ever seen them, etc, etc.

You mentioned sportsman parking........ We were parked closer to the the staging lanes than Pro Stock was this year. (they had better spots but we were closer)

I have been to races all over this country and I can honestly say the show at BIR is every bit as good if not better than any track I've been to. I may be a little partial because it's my home track but the performance speaks for itself. Anyone remember Schumacher's 337 mph pass a few years ago? It wasn't backed up for the official record..... but it DID happen at BIR.

I couldn't agree more. The improvements after just one year of new ownership was pretty obvious. I was talking with a couple that are doing the entire tour this year. Just as spectators. They said when it comes to fun "ZOO" and just fan friendliness. BIR dosen't even rank on there scale. It's a call of it's own. They were from Florida and drive up every year.

As far as the Canada connection. 1/2 of the group we camp next to are from Canada. They come down for the week and spend lots of money.

Mike, Brian and Todd, thanks. I thought I was going crazy. I did not understand what these guys were talking about. I've been there and camped there and the place is packed.

Looks like we're the only 4 that have been there and really know what's going on. It's about the best show going from back at the Zoo to the track. 24 hour entertainment if you're up to it.
