Legends Nitro (1 Viewer)

That’s funny because at the inception of this class I lobbied for for an enderle 1100 pump max, and open bottom blower….

For what it's worth, Leah Pruitt (might have been Pritchett then) won the HRHS national championship (N/FC) in 2010. If I recall, the times were mid 5.60s at about 260mph, a bit quicker than today's PM stuff. Not bad for a 6-71 blower, 1 mag, 80% and a weenie fuel pump.
Funny cars were running in the 5.80s at that time

Last weekend at the Firebird Raceway in Boise 14 cars showed up for a 8 car field. In the end:

AA/Funny Car
Nathan Sitko, Edmonton, Alta., .153, 5.55, 256.94 def. Bobby Cottrell, Hemet, Calif., .065, 5.68, 253.33.
Track record: Nathan Sitko (E1) – 5.510, 262.69.

Then this was dropped earlier this week:
Paso Robles, CA (May 23, 2024) - After a difficult weekend at the recent NAPA Ignitor, Don Nelson and Nelson Racing LLC, owner of the California Hustler Nitro Funny Car, have decided to make some changes for the remainder of the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Season and beyond. This includes a driver change and the formation of a new crew to begin testing. Nelson is also looking forward to making some needed tuning changes.
Despite the challenges ahead, Nelson is retaining his friend Dale Murray as Car Chief on the California Hustler. "We have a lot of work ahead of us with the new team and driver, as we make these changes," said Nelson.
Stay tuned for updates on the progress of the California Hustler Nitro Funny Car and their journey through the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Season.

Have not heard who the new driver is or who the crew will be. Kamaka Pocock was the driver and his family and employees were the crew.
