I guess they figure the average History Channel viewer just simply wouldn't be able to get their minds around what these cars REALLY sound like.
Some sound engineer probably couldn't get a clean recording because of the decibel level, and thought "Hey, I know, I'll just use stock car sounds. No one will be able to tell the difference!"
