I'm looking in to going to the Mile Highs. Ive never been before so I'm need a little info.

Do they still have the Mopar block party on Thursday? What time does it start? I would like to go but I cant find any info on this years event and I need to plan plane flights.

Best place or area to stay at?

Any special back roads to get there and miss some traffic.

Good local places to eat or hang out?

Thanks for any help I'm really looking forward to seeing the track.

been many times, I usually stay in Lakewood, you can get some reasonable rates there! But get to the track early so you can park in the Main lot, the alternate lots are a LONG walk to the track!!!!

Thanks Joe, I usually try to get to the track early. I like to wander the sportsman pits and get a view of some of the local guys I don't normal get to see.

Block party is still a go as far as I know, it normally kicks off at 18:00. Bring your sunscreen and walking shoes, the sportsmen pits stretch way past the top end of the track. See you guys there.

Are they still going to let the fuel cars run a higher percentage than normal like they have in the past?

There's all kinds of great places around here. Unfortunately, I will miss this year's race. I'd encourage you to go visit lower downtown Denver, maybe take a ride to the mountain casino towns of Central City or Blackhawk; whatever floats your boat I guess. It's a nice area, even away from the immediate Morrisson / Boulder / Golden area.

Unfortunately I'm not going to have much time to tour around. I have about a half days work in town and then I want to spend the rest of the time at the track. Or out to dinner after the races.

Troy-

Good places to eat are:
Tony Rigantoni's in Morrison right behind the track.
(Excellent Italian food)
Jose O'Sheas (Garbage Burrito!!) in Lakewood at Union/Simms Exit off of Hwy. 6 (Lots of decent Hotels around there).

We usually stay in the Golden or Lakewood areas.

You could always check out Coors Brewery too in Golden, about 10 minutes from the track.

I love the Mountain, can't wait to get back. We are making two trips this year. Testing after Chicago and then the race a week later.

Thanks Andrew, my wife is Italian so I'm sure we will have to try Tony Rigatonis!
And that is two votes for the lakewood area so I'll check it out.
Hope testing goes good in that thin air. Looks like a lot of work for one race.

Back in the 85% days, they let them run 90%. Now that the rules are 90% normally, there is no nitro percentage addition for the Denver race.

I remember back around '98-'99? I was talkin to Tim Richards, and he said Denver was THE most expensive race parts wise! Running in that Thin air kills a Ton of Parts since you have to have that Tune-up on Kill just to make Power! He then joked if anyone ever tried throwing that Tune-up at a Sea level track, they would knock the Blower off at the Hit!!!!

All right fellas,
I`m here at the Candlewood Suites in Lakewood. Who`s going to the Block Party Tomorrow and what`s the plan for a @Mater meeting?
