As a native Texican I should know this for sure but I might have left those particular cells unattended and lost them. You know use it or loose it.
The saying in question is this.
HE WAS HANDED HIS HAT ! OR HE HAD HIS HAT HANDED TO HIM!
I used it in reference to a local pro mod racer who has a new car that has a tendency to move to the left after launch.
As in if he don't figure it out soon Clyde will HAND HIM HIS HAT.
Let's see if my idea of what it means is correct or I had better Light a Shuck outta here.
Everybody says the two coasts have particular local dialects but I don't think they CAN HOLD A CANDLE to the South. LOL

Larry, It's more like "send him home"....
After all, in 'the good old days', when all Gentleman wore hats, the last thing you did was put on your hat as you were walking out the door.
