My Dad and my favorite Uncle were both in the Army and were both deployed overseas during some of my childhood.
I still vividly remember when I was four and both of them were gone somewhere; I didn't know where; on the other side of the world somewhere. A long, long, long way away was all I knew.
I missed Daddy and Uncle H.A. terribly. At night, I would often cry inconsolably.
IF I could have just had someting tangible; something my Daddy had sent me from wherever he was; something with my name on it, and with his name on it, maybe I would have cried a little less.

For just 50 cents, a soldier somewhere far, far away can get dog tags to send to his or her kids. This IS, of course, FREE OF CHARGE TO THE SOLDIER. This program is funded by donations from good hearted people like ourselves.
