I guess a Black Flag Violation is an oil down. What are the consequences of the event? I tried to look on the IHRA web site but am not a member and can't read the rule book. Any help?

The last IHRA rule book I have is from 2003 an oil down that requires equipment to used for clean up (trucks, sweepers, etc) is a black flag.
1st violation 15 points
2nd voilation 25 points
3rd violation 25 points

5 bounus points per clean qualifing run in fuel classes only.
no bounus points for clean passes during eliminations

Do they have a guy at the end of the track waving the flag as the cars come across the line? :D

2008 IHRA Rule Book

6. Black Flag Rule - Points will be deducted for penalties in TF, NFC, PM, AFC, and PS for Black Flag violations as follows: 1st violation: 15 points; 2nd violation (at same event): 20 points and $300; 3rd violation : 25 points and $500 and a mandatory meeting with the National Competition Director before the next run is attempted at that event or any subsequent events.

Thanks for the info. I'm not as familiar with the rules on this side of the house.
