What , no fine nhra ??? (1 Viewer)

Judging by the responses on here, it appears we have a lot of armchair pro-stock drivers in the house.
Had anybody been watching the show, everything would have been perfectly clear as to what led to AJ being upset.
Instead, one poster asks if AJ is going to be fined, and the dogpile starts. Now we’re seeing responses like, “I think he acted childish, but what led to him acting that way?”
That is a perfect example of putting the cart before the horse.

The track was hot and greasy. AJ did his burnout as usual. But, when he was backing up, his crew kept telling him “right, right, right” and led him completely out of his freshly laid tracks.
The hot tires picked up all kinds of crap that was not wiped off before he staged. When he dumped the clutch the car went everywhere but straight, forcing him to abort what probably would have been the quickest run of the weekend.
He gets to the end of the track and is some kind of frustrated about the run. He starts yelling, at nobody in particular. The camera angle made it appear that Vincent Nobile was bearing the brunt of AJ’s anger, when that actually was not the case.
AJ walked to the drink cooler provided for the racers, grabs a bottle of Dasani water and, with perfect form and aim, plus a very strong arm, heaves the bottle into the field across track. There was nobody anywhere close to where the bottle was thrown.
That’s all it was. He showed some emotion. Big deal. And, I’m sure the heat, both in the moment and because of the weather, led to his frustration coming out in a way not normally seen.
There’s no need for a fine, much less talk of a fine.
