I know alot of people think the ticket prices for the NHRA are high, well let me tell you, compared to the VanHalen 07 tour ticket prices, they are a bargain!!! I always told my son (who is now 14 and likes to rock like his old man) that if VH ever comes around again I would take him to see them, but I did not expect the $$$ they want. The upper levels of all the stadiums are $150 apiece, and the floor goes as high as $1700.00 per!!! In 1981 when they were in our town my buddy and I went to see them, stood right in front of Eddie on the floor, and the tics were $17.00 a apiece!! Man how times change. I think I'll stick with digs, what a bargain!!!!

WOW! I thought the Eagles' "Hell Freezes Over" tour was high...

I have a new "Boston" ticket at home from their second tour. I think it's around $14.00. They had Sammy Hagar open for them in St Louis and were boo-ed when they came on after Sammy. Sammy has always had St Louis in the palm of his hands. That was an interesting combination...Sammy's rugged pre-Van Halen style, and Boston's slick polished 'presentation'. It was like oil and water....

I saw Van Halen the last time they played (1984) in Los Angeles w/ Roth, first row center...Face value was $15.00 but to get seats like that you had to go to a broker...We payed $50.00 ea. and that was 1984 so prices have not gone up to much..
'Rush' tickets for 2007 front row in Los Angeles were affordable. We paid $2500 ea but got a small discount and backstage passes if we purchased 4 or more..A good deal for the memories...

i'd say its a risky buy as they will probably add and drop Roth a few times before the concert hits town

Van Halen opened up for my husband's band Texas back in the day!!! That is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a concert! If I have to pay, I don't go! There is always someone out there to give me the "Hook Up"!!! Thank god for friends!!!:D

I could be wrong but I thought I heard David Lee Roth was getting back with Van Halen, is this true? I'm sure it's just a rumor because I don't think the planets have aligned yet but if it's true and DLR becomes the singer for Van Halen..... be prepared to be disappointed!

Myself and 2 other friends went to see David Lee Roth perform at a local casino 2 or 3 years ago. All 3 of us have been VH fans our whole life (we're in our mid 30's now) so we were pretty excited to see DLR perform because we didn't think he'd ever be in concert again, let alone.... here in Minnesota.

Long story short.... The show begins and we CANT believe what we are hearing! The worst singing I have ever heard! Not only did he forget most of the words but he didn't even have to proper tone in his voice.... it sounded like a completely different person. It's pretty bad when I can sing his songs better than her can and he's been singing them for 30 years! Needless to say.... we walked out about 15 minutes after the show started and we stuck around longer than most people did!!

IF you go to the concert and IF DLR is the singer, don't waste your money on lower level tickets because you wont be there long enough to get your monies worth.

Yup, he is the singer. Wolfgang Van Halen is playing the part of Michael Anthony.

I saw him years ago and all he did was grab his crotch a lot! I don't know, maybe he had crabs or something!

I am sure Roth and Co. will be using a voice enhancement system like the 'Stones', 'Ozzy', the 'Who', etc, etc...use, which is old news in that industry...so it should sound okay...
I would have no problem paying for good tickets if the band was the original cast..

Well, it is true. I saw their concert tour announcement and DLR said they had been rehearsing the last 4 months. Must be right after Eddie got out of rehab. I have to agree with you though everything DLR has done since 84 is subpar. Eddie and Alex cannot be foolish enough to go out on tour with him sounding like crap though.... or can they?????$$$$$$

Suzie...I haven't paid for concert tickets since 1984,...my first year in Radio. I'll bet I've been to a couple hundred shows through the years. Thank God for my career...;)

You know Terry, you can only polish a turd so much! That is studio talk!:D

Suzie...Good to hear from you...Thanks for the studio talk...I have spent most of my adult life around studios and never heard that saying...
Most bands today who are mainstreamers w/ big crowds have to use voice enhancement assistance...
The Van Halen tour should be fun for everyone involved....
David Roth is the king of mouth...he can entertain and by the size of his house in Pasadena he has worked hard...
You now how hard it is to make it in that industry----

I have been singing all my life and the only voice enchancement system I need is a couple of shots of Crown Royal before I get on stage!!!
I would have to say I am pretty enhanced!!!:D

I think you are referring to a "soundboard" as the voice enhancement system. I really takes a good engineer to turn the knobs the right way!

good to hear from you too! where have you been?

Wish that was true today, Suzie, but vocal "enhancemets" would be an acceptable alternative to some of the bull that gets fed to audiences, particularly the kids, nowadays at concerts... ProTools is not our friend outside of the studio!!!

How are you Martin? Have you been out on tour?

You're getting ripped off for concert tickets in America, here's who l've seen in concert since 2000 and prices l've paid.

Brian Wilson - Jan 2002 - $100
ZZ Top - Jul 2003 - Fifth Row From Stage - $55
Shania Twain - Feb 2004 - Fourth Row From Stage - $97
Joe Satriani, Steve Vai & Robert Fripp - June 2004 - Balcony - $55
Bonnie Riatt - July 2004 - Balcony - $52
Robert Plant & Strange Sensation - Oct 2004 - Fourth Row From Stage - $40
Deep Purple - Sept 2005 - Back Stalls - $53
Everly Brothers - Nov 2005 - Ninth Row From Stage - $103
Whitesnake - June 2006 - Fifth Row Balcony - $60
Journey - March 2007 - Front Row Balcony - $75
Deep Purple + Styx & Thin Lizzy - April 2007 - $63

l know the prices and seats because l've kept the stubs

l've purchased the following tickets for concerts later this year:

Billy Connolly - 19 Sept 2007 - $60
Foreigner - 10 Nov 2007 - Front Row Balcony - $62

I'd rather go see VH with Sammy and Michael Anthony....

No offense to Eddie's kid, but Michael has got to be one of the baddest bass players in the hard rock 80's band era.
