The Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels blown alcohol dragster driven by Dave Hedges is going to Brainerd , Minnesota to see if they can bring home their first Wally this weekend. This year, they have put together a string of strong showings including a final round appearance, but they continue to focus on taking their operation all the way to the winner’s circle.
“You know we are really ready to get out there. If the past means anything at all, these should be the best conditions we have seen in a long time. We are going to try a few new things with this car and see if we can’t get some more power out of this Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels dragster,” said Brian Pfeifer, crew chief on the car.
“There is nothing the guys on this Team, including me, would want to do but come out to the track each week. We know that none of this would be possible without the all the brave men and women that risk their lives day after day for us overseas. They make sure we are safe and they give up the things they love to do so that we can be free. There is no greater sacrifice and we really want to thank them for all they do. We have a special connection to the 1744th Transportation Company because Marc Erickson’s (Autometer) brother, Jon, is serving with them right now. We would really love to bring the Wally home for them.”
Qualifying begins on Friday at 1:30 PM and continues at 4:30 PM. On Saturday, Top Alcohol Dragster will get its final qualifying shot at 1 PM. At 4 PM on Saturday they will have their first round of eliminations, which continue on Sunday following the Pro session.
