The Manzo (.492!!!) and Payne show in Brainerd...

Simply awesome

BRAINERD - Top Alcohol Funny Car Round 2 Eliminations

Payne flexes his muscles. That's the quickest ET and highest MPH of the meet. Track record, too.
Of course, there's a guy named Manzo who was sitting behind the water box watching all this happen

Manzo sez, "I got something for ya, Payne".
Snyder runs a great pass but has to wonder what hit him.

Great reporting!

One of the two will be wearing #1 next year - and they are friends when not racing each other.

HOLLY COW!!! Manzo 5.492 264.65MPH!!! Unreal! Deffs the standout this weekend!

Will face Harker

Manzo runs a .49 and no one is talking... geeezus!
Mike-
The only reason I didnt say anything was, I thought Manzo had ran a .45 earlier in the year...

Turns out it was a 5.46 @ 264.08 at Gainseville
Then again at hotlanta 5.499 @ 264.96

wake me when its a forty flat or a .30 yawn- :D

After watching Manzo run nothing but forties at Richmond last year, running just one or two is pretty much routine stuff (but still impressive).

Will do big bro, might be sometime :D It sucks there is no TA at Richmond this year! The .49 yesterday I thought was impressive, because I didn't see one coming...

It seems like Manzo always has two or three hundredths in reserve that he can throw at you. Unbelievable performance!

You had to be there for the best moment of that classic TAFC battle. The Motel 6 vision guys were sharp enough to be aimed at Shelly Payne right after Manzo's run.

Though there was no audio, the look on her face was priceless. I don't read lips but I'm pretty sure she was saying something on the order of, "He ran WHAT?"

I was there, Dan, but I followed the cars through the lights on my camcorder
and missed "the look".
