Unless they do intend to keep it dual purpose, which is a thing at some airports. Extra revenue for them.

Really, do you know how many airports that are still active in CA. Many of them such Famoso (east of the track) and Eagle Field are left over from WWII training strips that are manged by the local area govt. When events like drag races are held, the local FAA office is notified and any air traffic is diverted to another strip.
