Are there any of you that were members of this Las Vegas car club?
Not sure what year it began. I was an active member from ‘69 til drafted in ‘72 and technically after. I was the secretary for a few years.
I don’t know exactly when the club disbanded though probably mid 70’s.
We ran an NHRA sanctioned track out at Jean, Nv after Stardust was closed and until the LV Speedrome opened.
This former Speedrome, which we called the Sandrome, is now The Strip at Las Vegas.
Ken Black of KB Racing was a member as well as Ed Richter who had a speed shop just off the strip.
I even have a shot of Ken’s wild lace painted early Nova pulling up to the line at Jean.
We were the NHRA car club of the year for 1971 and Ed displayed the trophy in his shop.
I’d also like to know if this trophy is around still.
I received it at the Winters’ dinner that year and even have a photo of me doing so.
