Snap On Leaving Doug Herbert (1 Viewer)

On another forum I read a lot of alarming finger pointing about the lack of exposure the Snap-on car is getting because Doug hasn't been winning enough. Well, there's a lot more to it than just winning and there sure haven't been a lot of winners in top fuel this year either.

Who was on the cover of National Dragster last week? It was Doug Herbert. To say someone should lose their sponsor because they are not winning enough is basically an indictment of NHRA. To say "oh so and so should lose their sponsor" is not healthy for drag racing because when those sponsors are lost they usually don't come back and it means one less car. Not all 16 cars are going win.

Rich, excellent point, Dale Jr is the most wanted driver in auto racing for advertising and he has won one race in the last two years. It's how you promote your team and its actions during the season thats important.

NBC news in Charlotte actually rolled out the satelite truck to the Strip for a live shot and an interview with Herbert from his home/shop. And that was the 1st Segment of the news. During his interview a WINSTON No Bull Jacket could be seen in huge plain view. Nice!

Doug is 5th in points right now, set to finish the highest that he has ever finished in the points standings, there's more to it than performance on the track.
