The article says "With a loaded talent pool of have-firesuit-will-travel licensed Top Fuel drivers to choose from, the NHRA rumor mill has already been abuzz with speculation as to who has been tapped to pilot the Reed Trucking & Excavating dragster." I have seen nothing and this was news to me. Anyone else seen rumours or have anyh speculation?

well, that's the reason his name hasn't come off the bir entry list.
someone mentioned l. dixon in other thread. seems as good a choice as any. guess we'll find out.
angelle is not licensed yet for TF? or is she?

I would love to see someone like Stevie Jackson or Lyle Barnett get a shot. However it doesn’t make much sense to put a brand new driver in the car. They most likely have a current license which would eliminate legends like Scelzi. Cody Krohn has done a good job driving for Paton racing. Jasmine Salinas could be the fill in for Brainerd. Maybe Mike Salinas. Trip Tatum is entered for Indy but not Brainerd. My guess is we see Tommy Johnson Jr. for Indy.

If you are trying to protect a position, I'm not sure why you would put someone in the car who hasn't driven in a long ass time or someone who has very little experience or no top fuel license. The driver will need to be plug and play.

Don't be a Debbie Downer. Robert Hight had no experience and he did OK. Just sayin, I can handle it.......

I would think it is going to be someone currently on the tour, but who only has a part-time ride. That way there isn't going to be any re-learning curve with a driver who has been on the sidelines for a long time. Of course, it could be someone who can buy-in with some funds to help the cause.

How about Krista Baldwin?

If it were me, I'd want someone who hasn't been out of the seat for too long, like others have said, possibly a current part timer. And, ideally, since Shawn is self funded, someone who can pay to play for a couple events. Krista is I believe running her car at Indy with Spencer Massey driving. As for those who want to bring back a big name from LONG ago, you do realize that would be wrong on many levels (and I know some suggestions are tongue in cheek).
