Do I remember Rod saying last week (I've been so messed up with my days because I've been out of town) or the week before the DPM had a huge meeting with CAT about a continued sponsorship? Or did I dream that up? If they had the meeting, was anything said about how it went? I hope Hot Rod gets a sponsorship. He deserves it.

I haven't seen anything announced. But what a bargain it would be for CAT.

They sure aren't getting much exposure for the 10 billion they are paying to be in a poor performing car over in NASCAR.

They could sponsor car in every class for what they get in NASCAR.


But I know I know we've talked this subject to death.

is business to business........
(opposed to budweiser; business to consumer)
obviously the end goal is increased sales,
but in the case of motorsports marketing,
who's the target market for brand recognition?

Having good family friends from Peoria with a Caterpillar history,
I would love to see the CAT logo on DPM's dragster.

There sponsorship so far has been to get skilled people to apply for jobs it seems like. Not to mention the have a +++million dollar rental business. They also make lots of direct consumer item such as boots and toys. Hell my last pair of sunglasses (sorry Jim Janard) had the CAT logo on them.
