Caesars Sportsbook had lines posted for the Charlotte race. No lines yet for Chicago. Hoping they do. Thanks to Hagan I made a few bucks.

Wild how negative some of you are on this. Every other sports league does this. Including NASCAR. Plus as it was already stated, Ceasers already does lines. Seems like NHRA is trying to catch up and keep up.

Sounds like a lot of “back in my day” mentality on here. Change is good. Adapting to the times is good.

Sad day for NHRA, I have seen betting literally destroy racetracks. The beginning of the end?
NHRA is not running a betting site or have anything to do with it. They have basically joined in an alliance with another organization that will supply the information about NHRA drag racing to legal gambling sites. DraftKings, BetMGM etc..now will have all the information they need to allow fans to place wagers with them. They gaming apps don’t have the resources or people to study each an every league in which they have odds for. With the help of ALT Sports Data they can now post odds.

NHRA needs this to increase interest in the sport. I don’t watch the NBA at all, but if I decide to place a bet on tonight’s game, I’m definitely more likely to watch it.

State of AZ now allows sports betting & already they have hot lines for compulsive betters.
They have had those hotlines for many many years. I've now worked for three different tribes/casinos in the valley and every one of them there is a mandatory training class (usually held in conjunction with Title 31) annually on compulsive gambling.

My hope with this is that instead of filling the bean counter's pockets, the revenue generated from this makes its way to the teams in the form of prize money or more qualifying money.

it's called trickle down economy. You know how good that works for the guys doing the work right? Stream comes in to NHRA and trickles out.
