Motor Mile Now Equipped With PowerBoss Track Scrubber

February 23, 2006 - RADFORD, VA--Motor Mile Dragway Competition Director Steve Groseclose test drove a custom built PowerBoss track scrubber from Wayne Industrial Services yesterday, the latest addition to Motor Mile's efforts to provide the best racing environment possible.

"Everything is special about this piece of equipment," commented Groseclose. "It has two sets of brushes to clean up oil, a vacuum to remove fluids, and a set of burners to dry the track. Wayne Industrial Services told us it was one of the nicest PowerBoss machines they'd ever converted for a dragstrip."

Track owner David Hagan added that the machine will be "...a big asset to our track, saving time and resources, and will allow officials at Motor Mile Dragway to keep the track in the best possible condition for competitors."

"It's a great investment," Groseclose added. "It will definitely make our maintenance crew's job easier. We'll be able to clean up an oil-down 4 to 5times faster than with manual labor."

The track scrubber is yet another step taken by Motor Mile to prepare for its biggest year of drag racing since opening its doors in 2005. "We've got some serious competition coming to the track this year," explained Hagan.

"We'll have two Extreme Class races that will draw Pro Modified drivers from all over the Southeast, and we'll be hosting our first ever ADRL event in July. I want to make sure the track is the best it can be for these events."
