I wonder if the IHRA plans to have any events at tracks they don’t own outright? MIR, Great Lakes, US 131 comes to mind.

Just to name a few .
Stanton was doing their SP 50 grander this W/E and back in the day - I videotaped the great one behind the tree @ 315 MPH when he was match racing with Tony P. there long ago, so it'll still hold me some HOT RODS!. The potatoes out that way are deaf as a stone but that is a good place IMO to rip some passes too. They had a lot of IHRA fueled events back in the 90's and the track is probably in better shape now. I'd hope they'd consider that one too.

I remember Alan Johnson running some stunning 1/4 mile numbers there at an event years ago. From what I understand the track sold off some of their property which meant shortening the track. Is that true?

There's been some great runs down that 1320. Blaine ran there just a short time before his passing and who could forget Shirley? Ed Hoover & Cannon? Oh so many!~ it's a narrow track, where glance & blow (was and IS king) was explained to those who voiced concern it'd harder to get out of shape if you get to crazy.
That was when Jim was around and he was a great promoter too...
They (DragRacerTV ~ Warren Evans) were streaming it last W/E and I can't see where it looks any different, plus at the bottom of the web page it says:
