... for a charitable cause and under controlled conditions, of course! :D

This weekend was the annual Cruzinforlife cancer research charity event held in Santa Maria on California's central coast. The highlight of the weekend's fundraising motorsport related activities is the burnout competition.

Mendy and the bomb squad technicians were gracious to attend and put on a show for us as they headlined the event. Check it out:

Santa Maria thanks the bomb squad team!

BTW, moments before these passes, the Valley Head service car('57 chevy) made a few burnouts.
They wanted to add some excitement so, they had the car swap ends and do a couple 360's at the end of the run! Not on purpose of course .

Driver did a great job of saving the car, as nothing was hit or hurt!

Larry Ofria hit the gas on the tow truck a little too quick and sped down to see how his driver was. The tools and batteries all fell out of the truck bed onto the street, but all was well afterwards. whew!! Close call.

Glad the driver was ok and the car too.

But notice the 'jersey walls'... crowd Not standing on the sidewalk with nothing between them and several thousand HP...

If you're gonna do a street race, THIS is the ONLY way to do it.
