<P> (8/28/08) LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. – Kirk Kuhns, driver of the Embee Performance ’41 Willys Pro Mod, couldn’t be more excited to get back behind the wheel and continue his chase towards the JEGS ProMod Challenge Championship alongside teammate Danny Rowe at the 54th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. Prominently positioned in the No. 5 spot, Kuhns knows that it’s all going to come down to these final four races on the tour and the competition couldn’t be any tougher.

With 25 of the world’s best Pro Modified teams slated to attend to the “Big Go” at O’Reilly Raceway Park, it’s going to be a dog fight till the very end, but the very first round of qualifying on Friday night may be the ultimate key to success. As the nighttime conditions settle in on Friday night, drivers will be need to utilize the track and atmospheric conditions available to land a spot in the top half of the qualifying list.

“Considering the quality of the field of drivers and cars and the magnitude of the U.S. Nationals, I think everyone is in for a treat this weekend in Indy,” said Kuhns. “As usual, there are no lame ducks here in the JEGS ProMod Challenge and a driver has to be on his game every round. This Embee Performance Willys has what it takes and our performance this year has shown that we’ve got one of the most consistent hot rods out here. If we can continue that trend, I think we’ve got a shot.”

It’s been proven time and time again that consistency is the key to winning races and the Pro Mod powerhouse team owned by Danny Rowe has all the tools necessary to keep both the Embee Performance Willys and the Hottinger Group Camaro making it to the finish line under power.

“This team has been through a lot this year and never wavered,” said Danny Rowe. “As a team-owner, I couldn’t be more proud of the synergy we’ve been able to achieve and maintain. Jimmy Rector will be calling the shots this weekend in Indy and both Kirk and I know that he’s going to make the right decisions and it will be up to us, as drivers, to get the job done on the race track.”

Rowe continued, “Both Dave at Embee Performance and Larry at General Plumbing have been unbelievable – their support is critical and now it’s our turn to show our appreciation of their continual support with a big finish at the biggest drag race in the world.”

Qualifying will get underway on Friday, August 28, 2008 at 8:00 PM at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis with eliminations starting on Sunday night under the lights.

“It’s a truly incredible opportunity to be a part of the U.S. Nationals at one of the most historic race tracks in the world,” said Kuhns. “We’ve had a good year so far and I’m confident that we have what it takes to make it a great year with a win at Indy. There’s no doubt that it’s time to pull out all the stops and that’s exactly what we’ve got planned.”
