GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (August 28, 2008) Terry Haddock and his Lend America Racing nitro Dodge Stratus will face off against drag racing veteran Jack Wyatt this Saturday in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada in two featured match races at the Teamsters Canada Thunder by the Beach Weekend featuring the Saturday Night of Nitro. Haddock is the reigning IHRA Grand Bend event champion, and Wyatt is the 2007 IHRA Sportsman of the Year.

For Haddock, who is currently leading the points-race in IHRA nitro Funny Car, the event serves a dual purpose of fun and work.

"I'm really looking forward to Saturday and racing in Grand Bend again, because we get to go racing without a lot of the pressure that comes with a points-race," Haddock explained. "I love drag racing, and aside from spending time with my wife and son, it's what I love to do most.

"It's also a great opportunity to get our new setup fine tuned on a track we have already proven we can manage. We ran really well in qualifying last weekend in Tulsa, but we stumbled a little when we hit eliminations in the heat of the day and lost some ground, which means we really have to head into our next race in Epping [New Hampshire] loaded for bear.

"Coming to Canada is one of great things about IHRA racing because we get to meet so many friendly people. The people here really open up their hearts to us and welcome us, and I'm pleased we get to celebrate a fun night with them, kind of as a way to say thank you for all the hospitality they've shown us," he said.

Haddock said that his success has brought him some great supporters, including Lend America and DJ Safety.

"I'm honored to represent Lend America and DJ Safety. DJ Safety makes the very best safety equipment in the industry, and we're proud to carry their banner as we work to take home the IHRA Championship this year."

The NIGHT OF NITRO starts at 6 p.m. Saturday and features four Nitro Funny cars with two match races each. Haddock will meet Wyatt, and Michigan's Rob Bruce vs Ontario's own Jason Duchene.
