"Honey hush!" Oh my goodness! I am choking back tears! Not only was he a great comedic actor, but a damned fine singer as well! AND, AND, AND....a great part of my youth.

Amos Moses is one of my son's favorite songs. I guess I'll have to break the news tomorrow.

What a coincidence. I was just thinking about him last night.

One of the best guitarists ever. Won a couple of Grammy awards for albums he did with Chet Atkins. His musicianship often was overlooked because of his friendship with Burt Reynolds. When asked about his acting abilities he was funny as hell. He said "I did it for the money!" A true classic. Rest in peace.

Side note: Jerry Reed coined the phrase "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity" in the first Smokey and the Bandit movie. Funny when he said it. Irritating when DW says it!
