[coverattach=1]Bakersfield, Ca -- Hot, hot and more hot is the weather forecast this weekend in Bakersfield for the sixth of seven Pacific Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Events at the Auto Club Fomoso Raceway this weekend. For the Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars, this is a two day event.
Second generation driver Steve Gasparrelli will be piloting his family's Fontana powered 2008 Mustang alcohol funny car looking to earn his second win of the 2009 racing season. His proud father, Lou Gasparrelli and his uncle Mike and Bones will be there along with Randy Anderson to help towards this accomplishment.
"There are always a lot of good cars in Division 7" commented Gasparrelli, "Fortunately, we have a lot of data that goes back several years for the Fontana horsepower and Randy has done an amazing job fixing little things on the car that has brought us back to being extremely competitive."
Team Gasparrelli is currently in the 3rd position within the Division 7 points series and 16th Nationally. They still have several more races to claim and the West Coast is getting ready to go into the last part of the 2009 racing season with several races in a row for the National and Divisional points chase.
The Gasparelli's have has had some time off since the Sonoma Division race a couple of months ago and are all looking forward to racing again this weekend.
Qualifying for the Alcohol class is on Friday, September 18th with three sessions at 2:00, 5:00 and 8:00 PM. Final eliminations for the class will be on Saturday, September 19th at 4:00 PM.
