On a very fast day at the NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway, Tom Bradford got off to a slow start but is in the Pro Stock Motorcycle field and plans on moving forward when qualifying resumes on Saturday.
"The bike shook the tire really bad in first and second gear in round 1, then it wouldn't shift into fifth gear," reported Tom. "By the time it finally did shift it was on the rev limiter. Everything went wrong." Yet still, Bradford was in the field.

"We still had tire shake pretty bad, but it made a clean pass from there," Tom said about round 2, a round that saw membership in the Mickey Thompson 6 Second Club close. Fortunately, Tom hit that milestone mid summer.

"We're making a lot of power, we're just not getting it to the ground. But I think we're heading in the right direction for tomorrow. We're changing gearing, clutch, and the fuel map. Rob (crew chief Schopf) is finishing up the spare motor in the living room of the motorhome. It's cold outside, really chilly and damp, and it's nice and warm in the motorhome. He's got a workbench set up there and he's working on it.
"So we're in the bottom and looking to move up to the top tomorrow morning. Rob says we'll have plenty to cheer about tomorrow."
