Bracket champions to battle for shoot-out title (1 Viewer)

Wrightwood, Calif. – Being selected as the best of the best, is a distinguished honor in any sport. Earning this recognition with previous event wins this season in the Southern California Drag Racing Association (SCEDA) will provide a select few an opportunity to claim a winner takes all jackpot of $1,600.00 in the Pacific High Reach Shoot-Out held on October 17th at Autoclub Dragway in Fontana, Calif.

The Pacific High Reach Shoot-Out will include the 18 previous winners of SCEDA events in 2009. Racers who have won events in the Meziere Enterprises Electronics and Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels Non-Electronics categories are eligible for this event. Southern California bracket hitters, Rob Strong, Don Gatlin, Scott and John Joines, Jeff Interliccia and Dave Meziere are a few who are scheduled to line up for this season ending race of champions.

“We wanted to reward the winners of the 2009 SCEDA season with a chance at capturing some ‘free money’,” noted Brent Cannon of SCEDA. “There is no entry fee for these 18 winners and they represent the best of the best our series has to offer. This is a fun race for our series past winners. Since this is our last event of the season, we wish all of our shoot-out racers can enjoy one ‘on the house’. The final race of the season ought to be pretty entertaining.”

Winners of the final weekend’s season events will qualify for the following year’s events. The ladder will based off the reaction time of their one early morning time trial. It is a true make it or break it winner takes all event.

The event sponsor, Pacific High Reach, provides more than just a source of boom lifts, forklifts, and scaffolding. They work with their business and strive to be a true partner. Cannon also noted the original purse of $1000.00 was increased due to a contribution Quick-Tel Communications made to this award. Quick-Tel donated $1.00 per every paid entry at SCEDA races this season. He is offering other companies to follow suit.
