Cody "The Flash" Perkins earns TAD licence Salt Lake City, UT.- 20 year old Cody Perkins made the three passes needed to upgrade his NHRA competition licence over the past weekend at Rocky Mountain Raceway, driving his dad's current Top Alcohol Dragster. Cody accomplished a best of 5.78 at 248.96 MPH at 7200' corrected altitude. "It was great to have a good car I could trust to make the runs. I've got to thank my dad (Bob Perkins) for giving me the opportunity." Cody definitely felt comfortable getting into a car that had just qualified number 2 and out run TAD standout Sean O'bannon at the Fontana Ca. Division 7 race two weeks prior. In only his second run in the car, Cody bettered his career best E.T. by 2 full seconds with a...

Two weekends later Jerry, and his wife Gerri and there sons Jay and Justin decided to load the1941 Willys in the trailer and head to the IHRA race in Grand Bend...

The current crew chief of the two-bike factory supported Harley-Davidson team earned four wins in five final round appearances throughout his NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle career. This week Hines and the rest of...

Though Mr. McGraw is now probably just as well known as the father of country singer Tim McGraw, the rallying cry from his halcyon baseball days has outlived him, and is consistently used by all manner of teams or competitors who are looking for that edge, that extra bit of self confidence. Phil Burkart, and his Checker, Schuck's, Kragen blue...

Having battled through one of the most frustrating 12-race runs of his illustrious career, Worsham can only hope that continued perseverance, as well as the confidence built by 21 lifetime race victories, will finally put his Checker, Schuck's, Kragen team over the top and back into the lofty reaches of the sport's elite. His first half was full of incomprehensibly close losses, most of which came against a short list of drivers who are...

Springfield, Ill. Funny Car veteran, Tim Wilkerson looks for the 5200 mile trek to be a turning point in the struggling performance of his Levi, Ray & Shoup Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The first stop on the demanding trip is Bandimere Speedway for the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals. Set 5,860-feet high in the Rocky Mountains, the thin air at that altitude makes Bandimere a challenge for...

Stevens, driving the Team Mopar/Valspar Dodge Stratus R/T, has been on a roll of late, reaching at least the quarterfinals in each of his past three races (first time for him since Topeka, Kan., Joliet, Ill., and Englishtown, N.J., in 2005). This consistency has elevated him from 14th to 11th in...
