For a guy who was sitting 11th after two qualifying runs, Tim Wilkerson was surprisingly upbeat. His special-edition Rottler car drove into early tire smoke in Q1, then made an end-to-end pass in Q2, but with a cylinder out for much of the lap. His 4.197 was sixth at the time, but as the rest of the class made their runs it was knocked back to the 11th spot.
