Awesome list!

Several names I don't recognize. Several big names that won much later in their careers than I originally thought, and just some weird statistical anomalies. Kenny Bernstein won in Top Fuel before The Mongoose did? That is weird. And if Pat Dakin wins another event, that would have to be a record ... 43 years between wins!

Thanks, awesome list I'm like Chris took some of them longer than I thought. Bernstein thats wild:cool:

ok and who was the one that did it with a Chevy powered Top Fuel dragster? I know you old guys know, how about you young guys? Under 40?

This is a cool thread......

Here's a bit of trivia, common crew chiefs off the top of my head. I'm sure this list will be expounded on.

Lee Beard -
No 34, Jerry Ruth
No 53, Jim Barnard
No 57, Gary Ormsby
No 67, Pat Austin
No 70, Ed McCulloch
No 88, Rod Fuller
No 91, Antron Brown

Leonard Hughes -
No 35, Dave Settles
No 41, Richard Tharp
No 51, Mark Oswald

No. 39 Frank Bradley -
no. 8 Connie Kalitta (brief)
no. 67 Pat Austin
no. 72 Mike Dunn
no. 74 Shelley Anderson
no. 95 Del Worsham

i concur, this is a cool thread.
question: did frank put pat and del both into 300mph club?...it was 1993.
almost positive he put pat in, not entirely sure about del but i think so.
(he put only female member into that club too...rachel splatt)

I like it! Some I noticed missing from the Top Fuel section were Joe Amato's 4.562 from Brainerd 1997 that was never backed up, Doug Kalitta's 4.420 from Joliet 2003 that was never backed up, and Tony Schumachers 337. 58 from Brainerd in 2005.

Also:
91 Phoenix Jim White 284.62
91 Houston Glenn Mikres 286.25
91 US Nationals Jim White 287.81
91 Keystone Nats Jim White 289.94
91 Chief Nats Jim White 290.13
91 World Finals Jim White 291.82

They found 7 mph from February to November! That was huge. Then the team closed up shop and Wes Cerny went over to KB and in March 1992 we saw 300.

Or Dallas in 1987. The record going into the weekend was 5.482
87 Chief Nats John Force 5.453
87 Chief Nats Mark Oswald 5.449
87 Chief Nats Mike Dunn 5.443
87 Chief Nats John Force 5.396
87 Chief Nats Ed McCulloch 5.366

0.116 in one weekend! Those were the good old days. Could you imagine the record going from a 3.96 to a 3.84 now? Crazy. Of course back then they were still refining and learning and making big gains, now it's all pretty set in stone, and the quicker you go the harder it is to make big leaps.
