My March 1973 issue of Drag Racing USA, like you said Cliff, Mike bought the flopper from Dunn early 1972 and
retired by the end of the 1972 season. I remember the picture was in a number of drag rags back in the day

I remember almost all of these cars and magazines. What I really miss is how many tracks we had in SoCal back then and the shows they put on. Going to Lions & seeing 16 T/F and 16 F/C. Or OCIR and seeing T/F, F/C & Combo Elim. Was like going to a national meet every month. Sigh....

Those were the days. Gotta add Irwindale to the mix. Seems like you could get a great show every week.

Who was the woman in the top photo? You remember the story of the guys from New York, Richie Bandel? They bought a T/F car & the photog was gonna shoot photos of it. Woman comes along who worked in a bar next door and they asked her to pose w/ the car. She did. Scroll down in this article & you'll find out who she was.

Her name is Diane Gardner, no other information in the artical (photo shoot) about Diane.

I had no idea who the girl was on the cover with the Bandel brothers, until Aug, 2018 watching the
The Surfers #47 and I'm a huge Doors fan, you learn something new every day. And for the magazine
it is one of the rarest of all Drag Racing magazine and highly collectible. Last week June 13th one sold on
ebay for $81.00 and it had issues with the front and back covers. My Drag Racing magazine with Pam
on the cover is in pristine condition for being 56 years old. I would easily give it a 8 out of 10. I got it
in 1971. A company called Newport Productions in Costa Mesa, CA would have adds in Drag Racing USA
magazine, they sold everything drag racing from posters, calendars ect. For a $1.50 plus .50 cents for
postage and handling, they would send you 5 back issues of Drag Racing magazine. You never new
what you were going to get. Thank you Mom!
