SOLID TEST RESULTS PUT ROWE AND COMPANY IN GOOD SHAPE FOR ATLANTA

(4-27-2008) ATLANTA, GA – Now that Danny Rowe, Kirk Kuhns, crew chief Jimmy Rector and the Hottinger/Embee hot rods have a few positive outings under their belts at the last event in Houston, they’re looking for their first season win at the NHRA Southern Nationals this weekend at Atlanta Dragway.

Rowe, who has a runner-up finish in the IHRA World Championship to his credit, has yet to win a national event. Rowe does, however, have a relentless passion for performance both on and off the race track that could finally lead him to his first win here in Atlanta.

“Atlanta is an awesome place to race and after testing this week in Valdosta, I think we’re closer than ever to locking one up this weekend,” said Rowe who’s intent on moving up in the point standings out of the No. 10 spot and winning his first event. “Our expectations, truly, are higher than they’ve ever been. The cars are running well and we’re determined to put either myself or Kirk [Kuhns] in the winner’s circle Sunday.”

“As much success as we’ve had and the incredible people that are a part of our race team, it’s time to seal the deal,” Rowe said. Now that JEGS has come on board Pro Modified racing in the NHRA is getting a lot of attention in the media and the legitimacy it deserves. There is no better time for us to take it to the next level than now – when Pro Mod is enjoying a huge influx of popularity.”

Rowe is hoping to put his racing season into high gear with a strong performance at this weekend’s event, the 3rd stop on the JEGS ProMod Challenge schedule. Rowe is eager to see their testing success, top qualifying positions and overall racing package translate into a win in Atlanta.

“Considering testing alone, we went a 3.92 at 190mph in my Camaro, we’re right on track,” explains Rowe. “We’ve been right there the last two races, qualifying in the top half of the field amongst the competition we have out here is a success in itself – now we’re focused on turning those qualifying numbers into wins on Sunday.”

New Rowe Racing member Kirk Kuhns is excited to get after it in Atlanta as well, “Hey, we’re on the right track. Having guys like Jimmy Rector and his crew turning the screws on this Embee Performance ’41 Willys is enough to give a driver the necessary confidence to do his job on race day. There’s been a little time off since Houston and I’m anxious to get back into the heat of the battle with some of the baddest hot rods in the business.”

“Pro Mod is unbelievably competitive right now,” says Rowe, driver of the Hottinger Group ’67 Chevy Camaro. “You’ve got 20 to 24 cars invited to each one of these races that are all capable of winning. That’s great racing, serious competition for the drivers and it’s even better for the fans. Joe Baker has an early lead, but I really don’t see anyone running away with this thing, that’s for sure. There’s plenty of time to get things on track to win this championship.”
