Snyder Looking for Continued Divisional Success

Defending Division 3 champion Mick Snyder is looking to extend his points lead in the very tough divisional points chase this weekend when the team heads south to St. Louis, Missouri. This will be the first time the Snyder Motorsports Race Team, sponsored by Knoll Gas - Torco Race Fuels, has had the opportunity to race at Gateway Raceway Park.

"Since we don't get to come here for the National event, we are really looking forward to seeing what this track will be able to hold. We have always heard good things, but with the recent heat wave we have seen in the Midwest, you never know just how tough it is going to be," Snyder said. "We know we have to be on our game with all of the great competitors here in Division 3. Hopefully we will be able to put some good runs together and come out on top Sunday."

The Team, based out of DeMotte, Indiana, is excited to get what will be their busiest month of the season underway. Along with this event, the team is scheduled to attend the Brainerd National event then the Bowling Green Divisional. They will close out the month at the prestigious U.S. Nationals the end of August.

"This is going to be a pretty tough month for us and hopefully we will be able to have some success. I also need to wish my sponsor Evan Knoll good luck this weekend. He will be climbing into his Top Fuel dragster at the IHRA event. Maybe on Sunday we will both be able to celebrate in the winner's circle."

Racing action will begin on Friday evening at 6 PM when the Top Alcohol classes make their first qualifying run. They will have two more qualifying runs on Saturday at 6 PM and 9 PM. First round of eliminations will be run at 1 PM on Sunday. For up to date coverage of the event, please log onto www.dragracecentral.com.
