Rumor has it that Photobucket will no longer support 3rd Party Hosting- the ability to post <img> images- like a lot of the photos here- without a $399 annual fee...

If this is true, threads with images won't display them anymore unless you're paying for them. As a longtime Mater, I have posted dozens, and possibly hundreds, of photos here that will be gone from from this site.

Anyone else get the email from Photobucket?

Is it greed, too many people using ad blockers on their page or a combination of both? I love ad block plus but if too many people use something like it on a site they have got to make up the revenue loss somewhere....

I used to use Photobucket all the time, but it seems like for the last year, it's turned to crap. It used to work well, but for the last year or so, it's been terribly slow and clunky to use. I've pretty much stopped using it.

No way am I paying that kind of money to use it. No way.

I pulled all the pics of my builds off photobucket, whoever does their accounting should be fired.
2 people at $399 a year = $798, how many would sign up at say $5.99 a month?

With social media, you are the product, not the consumer. And you get spammed with ads. Speaking of which, I have been on many sites that are well aware one has an ad blocker set up and won't allow you to view the contents of the site because of that. And no, they're not naughty sites, lol
