Fan favorite Peggy Llewellyn will bring her number 4 Pro Stock Motorcycle plate back on track at the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado. Llewellyn will ride the second Rocklin Motorsports Buell out of Gatornationals winner Matt Guidera's trailer. "Everyone at Rocklin Motorsports has made me feel right at home," said Llewellyn. "They're preparing the bike and getting it ready, and I'm proud to see my number 4 on the side of the bike."

Testing at Route 66 Raceway showed that neither bike nor rider showed any signs of rust from their time off. This bike hasn't been down the track since G.T. Tonglet just missed the cut with it at the 2007 Gatornationals, and Llewellyn hasn't ridden a motorcycle at all since last year's season finale in Pomona. But with Rocklin's Rick Maney calling the tune-up, Llewellyn laid down two laps at 7.17 and 7.07. Remarkably, her first pass would have made the competitive Chicago field and the second lap would have qualified fifth. "When she made a clean pass the first time down the track, the whole team was very excited," said Guidera. "We didn't set that motorcycle up soft, either. We set it up just like we do my own motorcycle, and that's pretty aggressive. She gained a lot of confidence within the team that day."

"That was pretty cool after being off a motorcycle for seven months," said Llewellyn. "Rick kept asking me if I'd been on a bike at all, but I had to rely on the mental runs that George Bryce worked out with me last year. The results were pretty good."

"That bike has been strong for a long time," said Guidera. "We've been using it as a bit of a test mule on the dyno. Now it's polished back up and ready to race. All that bike needs is a backer and a great paint job."

Llewellyn and Guidera have been working to put the bike on the track since the start of the year, but potential sponsorship arrangements fell through. "Peggy and I have been working for about six months to put something together with some major sponsors," said Guidera. "I feel like we're close to landing somebody, we just have to get out there and show what she can do."

"Matt said the most important thing is we need to get me back on track and back on the motorcycle," said Llewellyn. "After we tested and got the results we were looking for, we got excited and prepared to make the western swing. We will have Diamond Bar Choppers on board for Pomona."

Llewellyn's year on the POWERade tour garnered lots of attention as she progressed to the final four in the Countdown to the Championship. Her personality and achievements were recognized by the Women's Sports Foundation, and she was asked to speak in their GoGirlGo! program. "I feel like we have a better than fair chance to put some sort of a deal together to keep Peggy out there and in the saddle," said Guidera. "I know a lot of fans want to see her out at the track. Peggy's a fan favorite and she sure makes our team look good. She would be an excellent marketing asset for any company. She's pretty, she's smart, and she's a really good racer, too. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes out there and goes faster than me this weekend. We're gonna put her on the best equipment possible and I expect her to get into the top half of the field. Then when she gets into eliminations, she'll get all her competitiveness back. We're very excited to se what happens with her."

"We're looking to get some laps in and let the public know we're looking for a sponsor," finished Llewellyn. "I'm going to try and finish out the '08 season, but definitely prepare for '09. Right now I'm just going to go out there and have fun."
