The 2021 NHRA awards banquet will be held at the Top Eliminator club at Pomona right after the world finals. A step up from last year's awards given out in in the champion's pits but it still ain't the Dolby Theater.

and imagine how easy it would be for a vegas hotel/casino to partner with the nhra to host 'finals' week/weekend with possible discounted room packages and
a proper awards banquet in their facility on sunday or monday. ....... nascar returning to nashville to crown their champions at the music city convention center nov. 30 - dec. 2.
(including camping world truck series)

I went to a slot car race in Vegas last month and I couldn't believe how much stricter it was there compared to here in California. You were required to wear a mask any where inside of a building. I watched them refuse service to some customers at the White Castle in the Casino Royale, and at the South Point Casino the security carried a box of masks to hand out to anyone not wearing one.

Unfortunately our governor is a leftwing socialist cool aid pusher, was great to meet you, your cars are very impressive, as soon as I can figure out to post will share

that must be why SEMA is happening 11/2 thru 11/5......indoor/outdoor at las vegas convention center. as per their website concerning covid:
Expected Health and Safety Requirements: Based on current COVID-19 indicators and trends in Clark County, Nevada, attendees at the 2021 SEMA Show can expect that face masks will be required while indoors during the event. Currently there is no requirement to show proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test for trade shows, and there is no indication these measures would be in place in November.

Look at what California would require to hold the event as they have in years past and it should be self explanatory.

Alan
Alan I am not clear how you came about your comment. Look a the remark from Eugene about Nevada, STRICTER REQUIREMENTS THAN CALIFIRNIA. The Vegas Visitors Authority has published Nevada's requirements that you and everyone going to Vegas have to follow and Nevada enforces their requirements much more than California does. Pomona could allow as big a crowd as they want if they would just follow the County guidelines. It can be done without a gigantic effort. Just look at the baseball playoffs at Dodger Stadium: 54,000 on one day and they got everyone in within 2 hours. The Rolling Stones had 3 indoor concerts in Inglewood last week and they were a sellout. Way more people indoors than NHRA would ever have at the Dolby and Pomona combined, many times over, and they didn't have any problem getting people in and the Dodgers and Stones were both sellouts. NHRA's excuse for restricting attendance at Pomona and having the Championship dinner at the Top Eliminator club is a cop out by them.
If you don't like California's requirements don't go but keep in mind that Nevada is even more stringent.

Terry,

Not getting into a political thing. The statement Bob made was "It's not the Dolby Theater." And I was suggesting that the protocols would make it more difficult than what they are doing.

Nevada never was part of the original statement.

The protocols for outdoors or indoors are the same whether the event is held at the Top Eliminator Club or any other location so what protocol would make it more difficult than what they are already doing?

Terry I was mainly talking about mask wearing. I took my vaccination card with me just incase, but no one asked to see it.
