bobby writing on a topic discussed here before. i like what he has to say
http://competitionplus.com/drag-racing/news/19260-commentary-where-have-the-majors-gone

even with the almighty dollar front & center, i do not see why former
event monikers can not be added to a corporate titles
- The Lucas Oil Northstar Nationals
- The Auto Plus Keystone Nationals
it just makes sense and IMO adds flavor to the corporate title;
adds history, location and overall a lost identity fans STILL identify with

winters, gators, southerns, mile highs, us nationals & finals still retain.

I agree with the part about how long Indy is. I love going their for the event, but good Lord it seems like you are there for a month.

For years, each Spring, Bristol hosted the Springnationals --- first as NHRA, then AHRA and then IHRA. I'm aware of the Thunder Valley Nats, but if we are looking at tradition, long before Columbus had the Springs --- Bristol did.
