MORRISON, Colo. (July 12, 2008) – La Junta, Colorado's Jason Fazio, 22, was selected as the 13th NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Member of the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series season at the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway.

Jason's father, Mike Fazio, who owns Valley Auto Parts, a NAPA AUTO PARTS store in La Junta, originally won the honor but gave it to his son who works at his father's store. Jason has been coming to the drag races since he was a youngster and was overwhelmed with the honor. "This is the first time I've ever had an opportunity like this," he said. "I feel extremely lucky. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I really enjoyed meeting the crew and watching them work on the NAPA Funny Car. I never dreamed I'd have a chance like this. I want to thank my dad and everyone involved at NAPA AUTO PARTS."

Will Rogers, sales manger for the NAPA AUTO PARTS Distribution Center in Denver and responsible for 107 independent NAPA stores, was instrumental in selecting Fazio as the NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Member. "Mike and Jason Fazio are both big motorsports fans and huge fans of drag racing and have been big supporters of all of our efforts with NAPA and our motorsports projects. We knew they were coming to the race and we just thought it would be a nice touch to get Jason in as the NAPA Honorary Crew Member. They do a great job for us and we just wanted to reward them for their efforts."

Fazio helped escort the NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car to the staging lanes in the team's Dodge Durango tow vehicle for the first round of qualifying today and also helped retrieve the car at the end of the track following Ron Capps' qualifying run. Fazio also received a NAPA team jersey and met the entire NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car crew. He enjoyed a tour of the team transporter and pit area and had an up-close-and-personal view of the NAPA AUTO PARTS crew as they worked on the car.

NAPA distribution centers at each NHRA event during the season have different criteria for choosing potential recipients to be NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Members.
