I went to the Nitro Revival Facebook page this morning and found a video of Kalitta Charters and how they handled bringing a fallen Marine home. The dignity and class the Kalitta crew showed during the transfer of the coffin was 1st class.

Click this link and scroll down to watch the video, it's a little long but it's worth watching.

thanks for posting this bob. really good. ...... i think? doesn't kalitta air also fly home all fallen soldiers from foreign soil, initially to dover AFB?

When I worked at Sky Harbor airport in Phx, we had a select group of employees that acted as an honor guard for the Fallen military. They put the flag on the casket and escorted it. Sometimes you can see them from the terminal windows. Man..... very emotional. There is also a group that meets Vets that have gone to Wash DC to the WWII memorial. Most of this group are former military, and they line up in Terminal 4 & salute the Vets that come thru. Most of the Vets are WWII, so are in wheelchairs. Man that chokes you up as well. My Mom was a WWII Vet, Marines, airplane mechanic. She did pretty good for a Cajun farm girl.

Being a former Marine vet I had the opportunity to visit the Military monuments in DC in 2019 courtesy of the "Honor Flight" program that flies Vets for free to DC on a one day tour. Honor Flight is a nation-wide organization and if you know a WW 2, Korea or Vietnam Vet have them look into signing up for the trip. When I returned from DC the Palm Beach airport was packed with well-wishers welcoming us home. For info go here: https://www.honorflight.org/

Bob, you don't need to hear this from me, but THANK YOU for your service in and out of uniform.
