Like the old saying goes, you can make a small fortune in drag racing, just start with a large fortune (I know the family money doesn't come solely from drag racing, I'm making a joke).
I've gone by it many times on the water, didn't seem to be a lot going on there. I've seen Johnny a few times at car shows and once at a local Starbucks and he's genuine nice guy.
Yeah, nice guy, good drag racer, was great for the sport but... the way the article implies that he is rich and famous because he's a race car driver is pretty odd. I get they are trying to play up celebrity cachet, but honestly I think "oil tycoon" might carry more weight in that sense than "retired moderately successful gentleman drag racer," even if you do try to spin it into "racing legend."
