Jarod Wenrick Moves Up to Dart Pro Street

Columbus , OH – Last fall at the National Street Car Association World Finals, Jarod Wenrick was just starting to make some real progress with his nitrous combination when he learned that the Top Sportsman eliminator had been cut from the 2007 roster. Not a problem. Wenrick was already contemplating a move up the ladder to the very competitive Dart Pro Street eliminator and nitrous was to be a thing of the past.

The Tipp City, OH resident envisioned a very simple 565-cube big block Chevrolet topped with as-cast Profiler heads with a big ProCharger F3R centrifugal supercharger providing copious amounts of boost. An Alan Dudley MFI fuel injection system with a total of twenty four 160lb injectors would provide enough methanol for some serious horsepower production and a Rossler TH210 transmission was chosen to transfer the power to the tires instead of the more typical for Pro Street Lenco. The Rossler TH210 transmission is a Rossler exclusive three speed tranny based off the venerable TH400 and merits a significant weight break in Dart Pro Street .

This new drivetrain was installed into Wenrick’s beautiful black Tim McAmis ’68 Camaro and completed with a new graphics adorned cowl induction hood to present a very slippery package. The ride made its debut at the season opening Precision Turbo NSCA Nationals at Columbus , OH with a traction limited 6.486 at a less than optimal 184.47-mph best in qualifying, good enough for the #2 slot on the ladder. Some tweaking by Alan Dudley himself netted a remarkable but still traction limited 4.15 to the 1/8th packaged with a 6.489 at a much improved 216.76-mph during Sunday’s eliminations. Wenrick eventually turned on the red light against Demieri in the semi-finals. The 4.15 is one of the quickest 1/8th mile passes ever recorded by a centrifugal supercharged or even turbocharged vehicle in competition!

Dart Pro Street vehicles are the fastest and quickest vehicles in the NSCA series with 6-second passes at over 200 MPH. This eliminator is designed for both stock appearing and Outlaw-style bodied door slammers. Entries are permitted small block and big block engines that are naturally aspirated, supercharged, nitrous oxide injected, or turbocharged. Both gasoline and alcohol as permitted.

The next event on the 2007 NSCA Drag Racing Series Schedule is the NSCA New Jersey Drags at Atco Raceway in Atco , New Jersey on May 19-20. For more information about the series, visit their website at NSCA - National Street Car Association.
