D'Aprile debuts new ride at ADRL event
Miami Ink to use footage in upcoming TV episode

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (April 30, 2007) - Tommy D'Aprile will roll out his brand new Vanishing Point Race Car at the ADRL's Camp Motorsports Georgia Drags, May 4-5 at the South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta. The IHRA's 2006 Pro Rookie Driver of the Year is looking forward to racing this weekend and a little extra television time for his sponsors.

While the Sir Thomas Inc. / Access Able Mobility 1963 split-window Corvette will be making its first competitive passes of the year, D'Aprile hopes the car will be competitive once the car is out of the trailer. "We want to get a few runs under our belt. It's the same crew and same tuner that we used to finish fifth in IHRA points last year."

D'Aprile will utilize journeyman racer and tuner Quain Stott to turn the wrenches. "I keep teasing Quain and telling him I'm going to find out just how good of a tuner he really is," D'Aprile joked. "This is an outlaw event, so it's not exactly the same set up we would use at other events. But, I have all the confidence in Quain and my guys to make this car competitive from the start. This is our first outing since October, we just want to go out and have some fun."

Along with having fun, D'Aprile will attract attention for the ADRL and his sponsors as TV crews capture racing footage to be used on the hit television series "Miami Ink". In March, D'Aprile was filmed for a Season 3 episode scheduled to air later this year, where D'Aprile received his first tattoo. The tattoo, which has a cross with the word 'Believe', is a symbol of Tommy's faith and a reminder of the men and women of the American Armed Forces.

"Last season was very touching," D'Aprile said. "We raced the 'Support Our Troops' car and met so many service men and women that fight for the freedom we all enjoy. They put themselves in harm's way for us. The tattoo was something I wanted to do to remind me of my faith and the faith and sacrifices of our Armed Forces."

After a successful 2006 campaign that saw D'Aprile team up with Quain Stott, D'Aprile is looking forward to joining forces with Stott again. "Quain and I had some success last season. I couldn't ask for more. Having a chance to finish 5th in the world and being a part of Stott's World Championship team was exciting. I'm actively seeking sponsorship to put this team back together full time. I'm confident we can deliver the same results for a sponsor."

Practice and qualifying for the event will begin Friday afternoon at 1PM with additional qualifying attempts on Saturday at 12 noon. Eliminations for the action-packed 2 day event begin at 4PM. For more information, visit http://adrl.us or South Georgia Motorsports Park | Home Page
