Dodge® NHRA Summernationals - Indianapolis

Pre-Race Report

After a quick trip to St. Louis for NHRA sanctioned testing, Cruz Pedregon and team are looking forward to putting what they learned earlier in the week to work for them in qualifying Saturday.

"It was good to put the Snap-on Dodge® through the rigors of some test runs. Since Dodge is a race sponsor this weekend, we want to make sure the car and team are performing at their best," says Cruz. "Before leaving the shop, we invited my good friend Dr. Jason Winkle to talk to the team about being high performers. He's written the book 'The High Performance Athlete' that's based on what he's learned in his years as director of Combatives at the United States Military Academy at West Point and from special ops, SWAT teams and athletes who've achieved excellence in high pressure situations. And, there's nothing quite like the pressure you feel when you've got to make sure a high-powered machine like an NHRA Funny Car runs at its peak with limited runs and only a few seconds to prove what it can do."

The team also spent time in the shop servicing and maintaining a good inventory of parts…critical to the rest of the season. Even with the racing schedule changing to meet state and local coronavirus-related mandates, the team is committed to making strong runs and putting on a good show for fans in the stands and watching on FOX or online.

Cruz's Dodge® will again pay tribute to the Snap-on 100th with its paint scheme and logo. Fans are encouraged throughout the season to post pictures of the car with the hashtag #Snapon100.
