Just checking on fellow 'maters in case any were in the storm's path.
My Navy son is stationed in Picayune, MS. But, he is currently deployed in Thailand, and not due back to the good old US of A until the first of October. Fortunately, his next door neighbor is a great guy and has been keeping me posted on the storm's progress. Picayune got hit last night. The storm tracked just a bit to the northeast of Picayune. Picayune got a bunch of rain and some serious wind.
My son's house lost a few shingles and the wind blew the door off his shed in the backyard. I was ready to make the 8 hour drive but the neighbor told me it's not necessary at this time. But, everything else looks to have come through with little or no damage.
The neighbor's house is OK.
I hope everybody in the storm's path is on alert and taking all necessary precautions.
