Noteworthy:
2023 marks Brown’s sophomore season as an NHRA team owner
AB Motorsports finished 2022 ranked second in the standings at the conclusion of its rookie season. The No. 2 ranking solidified Brown’s 25th consecutive Top 10 finish
Made his NHRA debut at the 1998 Gainesville event while competing in Pro Stock Motorcycle
On Thursday leading into the race weekend, Brown and his new AB Motorsports partner, Fire Department Coffee, will visit a local Gainesville fire station to meet with the firefighters and deliver a donation of Fire Department Coffee. Sadly, there has been a recent spike in firefighter suicides in the Alachua and Marion counties of Florida. For fans looking to support the initiative, funds raised from Fire Department Coffee’s new Charity of the Month Shirt Club will help cover the costs for firefighters in the Gainesville community needing rehab or other support services to help them overcome substance abuse.

Fan Events:
Brown will participate in the inaugural Gainesville Fan Fest on Weds., 3/8, at Burnyzz Speed Shop (1 Aspen Rd., Ocala, Fla.). The free-to-attend event will feature a car show, live music, food trucks, and a driver autograph session from 7-8 p.m. that will include former Gatornationals winners and current NHRA Professional Drag Racing stars.
Brown will join his Toyota Gazoo Racing teammates at the Toyota midway display from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday for a Team Toyota autograph session.

Quotable:
“Looking forward to starting the year off in Gainesville. We had a really successful test session here in Florida. The car is running good, we’re very competitive, and I’m super stoked on all of our crew and our whole ABM team. We’re energized, we’re motivated, and ready to pick off where we left off at the end of last season.
“We’ve got a sold-out crowd joining us for our AB Motorsports Pit Side hospitality experience this weekend with a large showing of Matco Tools distributors coming out, and what can I say, I’m just living that dream.”

About AB Motorsports
Established in 2019, AB Motorsports is a single-car NHRA Top Fuel team owned and operated by three-time world champion Antron Brown. The team competes on the 21-race NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series circuit thanks to the support of Matco Tools, Lucas Oil, Toyota, SiriusXM, Factory Motor Parts and its FVP brand, Hangsterfer’s Metal Working Lubricants, and Summit Racing Equipment.
Headquartered in Brownsburg, Ind., AB Motorsports made its on-track debut in 2022, racing to three wins in four final rounds to finish second in the standings in its rookie season.
Brown, who serves as both the driver and owner of the AB Motorsports Top Fuel dragster, is the only competitor in NHRA history to have won races in both the Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle categories. Brown is a 71-time NHRA national event winner and became the first Black driver to win a major U.S. auto racing championship when he captured the 2012 NHRA Top Fuel series title.
