Rapid Moves On
I just wanted to let everyone know so there is no speculation. Scott and I have elected to split up the team. It is something we have been talking about and in the interest of me finding a ride, and him finding a new driver for the 2008 season we decided to announce it at this time.
There is no deep hidden reasons, Scott and I have been friends for 30-years or more. We are still great friends, and don't be surprised to see me helping tune the car at an event if I am around.
I have wanted to drive a big % Nitro car on a more regular basis and he is comfortable with the performance at the level we have attained. So it is a perfect time for us to both accomplish our goals.
I have really enjoyed my time with the Nitro Madness team, they are all like family to Laura and I. The only real change is I won't be behind the wheel.

Wow.
Best wishes for both.
Well, we can now cheer for BOTH the nitro madness team AND a Rapid Randy team.

Re: Rapid Moves On
Does this mean "What I did last weekend" will be replaced with an NHRA drivers blog?

Isn't Randy supposed to be driving Danny Miller's flopper in Bakersfield next March? Best of luck at the March Meet, Randy (as long as you don't take out my fellow countrymen in the "Bubble Up" car). With all of you guys coming from back east, the 50th annual March Meet should be a "must attend" event. Who knows, maybe we aren't that far off from a 16 car field in nitro funny car? I would love to see a 16 car field; maybe I am dreaming; however, I am still hoping that I can take my kid to a nostalgia race that has a 32 car nitro funny car field someday.

Re: Rapid Moves On
Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments. The NHRA hot-line call hasn't came in. I plan on having a few things to talk about in my What I did Last Weekend stories for sure.
Kevin, at the CHHR, I spend some time with Gordon Jenner, what a cool guy. He gave me all the Bubble-Up secrets, so when I add that to the Danny Miller Horsepower you Canadians are in trouble for sure.
Come say HI at the March Meet.

Here is a shot of Danny's car.

I'll definitely stop by and say hello next March. You may have the Canadian secrets; however, the Hawaiian secrets are still closely guarded by the Queen's finest Mounties. With that said, if you guys can take out the "Northwest Hitter"; we Canadians would be most appreciative. For your viewing pleasure, I have included some pictures that I took in Tucson of the Great White Hope being warmed-up by some rookie American dude wearing a Brut hat.

Re: Rapid Moves On
Wow, like everyone else, I am shocked. Best of luck to you, Rapid and to Scott and the team.
When I saw you guys at Cordova this year, the whole time was great to all the fans.
