very interesting! its suprising that john would give his blessings to let jimmy prock go, hes 1 of the best. or else maybe zippy tuning in 09 with 1 of the other force girls driving?? but it looks like ken black will be stepping up big time to a mega team. sounds cool to mee! man funny car in 09 will be wild, sounds like a 32 car field brewing to me

I am very surprised Prock is leaving JFR....For the last ten years Prock has been putting up some good numbers...but...his tune-up is very costly..
Joe Amato let him go for the mega-carnage his tune-up's created..
Ask Cory Mac's father about the bills he is probably just paying off after Cory's family employed him back in the 90's...Our family rented his (Cory's)family a building in Buena Park, CA ...and during those days around each Pomona the building would house whoever's car LaHaie was tuning and Roland's cars...
One evening Prock fired up Cory's car around midnight on 100% nitro and after the office windows busted out the police showed up...
Fun times....The building still rents to the east coast teams but we out-sourced the management and I no longer visit to snoop around...

My goof......

Maybe I missed something but where did it say he was leaving. It said "Black admitted that Jimmy Prock had been the preferred tuner" and that Prock "opted to honor his contract with John Force Racing". The best you can get from this is that Schumacher talked to Prock and that Prock was interested and maybe considering a change in the future.
