I believe he was offered the 3rd Kalitta car before it went to Hillary and I thought I remember their being talks with someone else. At this time it appears that it is by his choice to be in the booth.
He said a while back before he renewed his contract that this allowed him to spend much more time at home after years on the road.

Isn't the reason he's leaving the seat is so he WOULDN'T have to be on the Tour and away from home so much?

Although he would be great in the booth, the trade from flames in the face to flames from us knuckleheads would be not worth all the plane trips and crappy hotels... (Hi Alan, BTW...)

The broadcast crew should put together a Mike Dunn montage for those who missed out on the Columbus fire, OCIR explosion and those 280 mph blasts in the Pisano car.
Brian, his column is on NHRA.com, in the member's section... and all the PRO section from N/D is there...

I like the 'pulp' version... and if I want to look at the ladder from bristol 06, I know right where to look in my office....

true but with doing tv he only travels to the race itself and not all the sponsor evetns and testing and such. Even if he was a part time addition I think it could be fun. I doubt it happens but it would be cool.
