What is used in them, I assume varsol, and doesn't it have a real high flashpoint? High enough that sparks won't light it?

It just mentioned on TV she burnt them in the clutch can.

I spoke to them in the staging lanes right after it happened....they didn't go into much more detail. I'm doing great T......thanks. Hope all is well with you ?? What's next for you guy's ?? Tell your pre-historic tuner I said hi .......and the truck driver too. Scoots

Strange.. I definitely remember reading the comment that she came to the starting line with both hands bandaged and that she burned them trying to put out a fire in the pits, and that no further information was available. at drag race central first round top fuel page. oddly enough the comment has been removed from that page

They were both bandaged. Maybe they will shed a litlle more light on it tonight.

I got a little more information this evening. Kim burned her hands when there was a flash fire while she was working on the clutch following a run. The clutches get red hot and apparently something flammable was sprayed or spilled on the hot clutch disks, triggering the flareup.

Hey Mike, It has been a very long time.......Hope your doin' good.......say hi to the family for me.........

When Paul Page was reporting on it he mentioned that Kim used to be her dad's crew chief but he also said that she drove Top Fule briefly. I don't recall her ever driving???

I seem to remember her getting some laps in, but can't remember if she ever drove in sanctioned events or in match races. Anybody here with a better memory than mine?

I remember her driving also, for a brief period, and I think it was in competition, but I'm not sure. Could it have been for Jack Clark before John Andretti came on board?

She drove in 1992 in the car that was previously driven by Maurice DuPont (same paint scheme). Mike Dunn was the last driver Jack Clark had before John Andretti.
